Bastian Buus teams up again with BWT Lechner Racing in Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup
After a superb debut season winning the Rookie Championship in 2022, with two overall race wins and two new records, the Danish Porsche Junior has renewed the agreement with BWT Lechner Racing and will continue in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup in 2023.
The agreement with BWT Lechner Racing means that Bastian Buus will once again team up with the most successful racing team in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. Last year alone, the Austrian outfit secured the Driver, Team and Rookie titles in the championship, which is held in conjunction with Formula 1 and is attended by millions of fans around the world.
"This is fantastic news. My collaboration with BWT Lechner Racing has been a total success, as we achieved our goal of securing the Rookie Championship last year. With their high technical and sporting level, the team has been a decisive factor in my results, and it is the right place for me to chase my next goal of securing the Driver Championship title in 2023" says Bastian Buus.
Team Principal Robert Lechner is already looking forward to the upcoming Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup season and is very happy about the extended deal with Buus: "Bastian phenomenally secured the Rookie Championship by winning all of the season's 8 races in the Rookie Class – an achievement that has never before happened in the series' 30-year history – which speaks for itself. In addition, the fast Dane also holds arecord as the youngest race winner ever and was by far the best Rookie last season. We have worked with so many promising young talents over the past years and he really deserves to be called a Porsche Junior.
