Before the summer break, the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup heads to Hungary for its fifth round. Following a challenging race weekend at Spa-Francorchamps, BWT Lechner Racing travels to Budapest on the back of a podium finish.
The 4.381 km circuit is one of the most technically demanding tracks on the calendar. Its winding layout features numerous medium- and low-speed corners, with only a few genuine straights where drivers can catch their breath. Qualifying will be crucial, as overtaking is notoriously difficult on the tight circuit.
Nevertheless, the Hungaroring holds a special place in BWT Lechner Racing's history. Over the years, the team has celebrated a total of 12 victories at the circuit, with the most recent in 2024, when Harry King stood atop the podium.
Robert de Haan, currently third, remains firmly in contention for the title, and after back-to-back podium finishes, he is eager to fight for another strong result in Hungary. Marcus Amand arrives with a strong fourth-place finish in Spa. The Finnish driver has repeatedly shown that he can handle the pink BWT Lechner Racing car at a high pace, and it will be interesting to see whether he can deliver another top performance this weekend. Australian rookie Caleb Sumich will write the next chapter of his debut season – currently fifth in the Rookie Standings, he is aiming for his next solid result in the one-make series.
