BWT Lechner Racing and Robert de Haan still in the championship fight at Monza final

The great final of the  Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup season 2025 is coming up – and the setting could not be any better for the eighth and final race of the year: The historic and traditional 5.793 km long high-speed Monza track in the Royal Park with its famous corners like Lesmo, Variante Ascari or Parabolica – even if the latter has been officially renamed to “Curva Alboreto” - always provides very close and action-packed racing.

BWT Lechner Racing driver Robert de Haan is going into the decisive weekend in P2 of the drivers' championship, nine points behind the current leader but optimistic to be able to launch a full attack on the title. The 19-year-old from the Netherlands already showed his ability on this track last year, when he put the pink car on pole position at Monza.

The Austrian team has very good memories of Monza, as both in 2022 and 2023 one of the team's drivers secured the championship and another won the race.  In 2022 it was Dylan Pereira who claimed the title, while Bastian Buus won the race, in 2023 Buus himself won the championship, while Harry King was the final race winner of the season.

Robert Lechner, BWT Lechner Racing Team Principal: “There is always a very special atmosphere at the season final. We are going into this weekend fully motivated and also confident, but in the end of the day it is the whole season that counts. We haven't always been on the bright side this year: After the rather unlucky start during the last weekends in qualifying we were also losing out on very tight margins a few times. But nevertheless we aim for a performance on the highest level again at Monza – and then we will see about the outcome.”

Robert de Haan: “Going into the last round I am sure we are fully focused and committed to do our job in the best possible way. We are still in the middle of the championship fight and of course it would be great to claim the title in the end!”

Marvin Klein: “I am ready for the last race of the season, we have everything to enjoy a nice weekend and deliver at the same time! I had quite a good test here, so I am looking forward to the season final in Monza.”
