Home race for BWT Lechner Racing driver Harry King at Silverstone

After a great weekend at the team´s home race in Spielberg/Austria, BWT Lechner Racing and the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup are already looking forward to a new highlight of the season: The race  at the classical Silverstone circuit, the „home of British motor racing“. With two wins in the first to races already in the bag, BWT Lechner Racing goes very well prepared into the challenge of the 5.891 km long track with its famous corners like Copse, Maggots, Becketts, Stowe, Abbey  - names very familiar to every racing fan worldwide.

Both Austrian winner Bastian Buus as well as British local hero Harry King, who won the first race of the season in Monaco, can´t wait to get back on track again, enjoying the challenge of the famous classical corner combination of Maggots and Beckets, “where you enter with more than 200 kph, cannot make the slightest mistake, otherwise you will lose a lot of speed and time on the following Hangar straight”, as King describes the very special feeling. “Last year I made it to the podium in my first race at the full Grand Prix Circuit in Silverstone with P3. At my home race that was a great emotional experience and of course I would love to repeat it – if possible on the highest step of the podium this time.”

New championship leader Bastian Buus hopes to be able to take the momentum from Spielberg over to Silverstone: “I know I have a very competitive car, so I seem to be in a really good position to fight for the championship this year”, the Danish Porsche Junior is adamant.   Australian rookie Harri Jones after a rather unlucky weekend in Austria is looking for better days again: “I know that the team has trust in my abilities, they give me a lot of support – things have just to come together to also show in the results.”

“The two victories in the first two races, which brought us the lead in the team as well as the drivers championship are of course a huge motivation for the whole team in this challenging month of July with four race weekends on the schedule”, Robert Lechner, Team Principal and CEO of BWT Lechner Racing, states. “We are very well prepared, so I am confident we will be able to play an important role in the fight for top positions again. I always love to come racing her in Great Britain, where I lived for three years during my junior formula and GT career and  had many great experiences. There is always a very special atmosphere at British race tracks with a lot of very knowledgeable fans.”
