Great memories for BWT Lechner Racing at Spa-Francorchamps

There could be no better place for the start of the second half of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup season 2025 than Spa-Francorchamps: The 7.004 km long up- and downhill track in the Belgian Ardennes with its ever so famous corners like Eau Rouge, Raidillon and Blanchimont is very special for both fans as well as drivers and teams. It poses a very unique challenge to all competitors – often additionally complicated by changing weather conditions.

BWT Lechner Racing has very good memories of the track, scoring a one-two victory here in 2021 with Dylan Pereira and Ayhancan Güven at the 300th Porsche Supercup race in history, in the pouring rain, with Pereira then winning again in 2022, then an important milestone on his way to the title, as was the second place for Bastian Buus in 2023. And last year the epic fight between Harry King and Larry ten Voorde with the two cars going side by side through Eau Rouge excited spectators on track as well as everyone assisting on TV.

After the one-two victory of Marvin Klein and Robert de Haan at the BWT Lechner Racing home event at Spielberg, the team used the short break before the upcoming double-header of Belgium and Hungary for a little bit of necessary relaxation, but nevertheless is now again well prepared and fully focused on the upcoming challenges.

BWT Lechner Racing Team Principal Robert Lechner: “After the first short summer break we are now looking forward to the second half of the season. The first half started difficult for us, was very challenging and unlucky, but as a team we managed to turn things around. We are now leading both the driver’s and the team championship – so a big thank you to everybody for the hard work. It is very important for us to stay focused and continue the same way in the second part now – as there are still as many points to be gained until the season final in Monza as there were until now. A double-header is always especially important, a lot can happen, especially at Spa, which is always a cool event, but where the unpredictable weather often plays a big role.”

Robert de Haan: “Looking forward to Belgium! We had some really good testing there earlier in the season, so we should be competitive. Spa is also a very unique, fast and technical circuit, which is going to make it very interesting. The team is ready, I am ready and also fully relaxed after the break, so let’s go full attack for the second half of the season and let’s see what we can do.”

Marvin Klein: “Motivation is really high after our great weekend in Spielberg. Spa, where I was able to win last year, is also one of my favorite tracks in the calendar so let’s keep pushing.”
