It may not be the season finale, but the next round of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup is arguably the most important race weekend of the season so far. As the single-make series heads to the challenging Zandvoort circuit, nestled among the Dutch sand dunes, BWT Lechner Racing faces a crucial double-header. With two races offering twice the opportunity to score valuable championship points, the team is aiming to make significant gains in the title fight with strong results in both.
Robert Lechner: "We are firmly focused on building on the momentum we have generated in recent rounds. We have won two of the last three races, and both our drivers and the entire team are performing at their best. We also used the summer break to recharge, regroup and prepare as thoroughly as possible for the races ahead. That has given us the best possible preparation for this important double-header weekend, where twice the usual number of points are available across the drivers’, teams’ and rookie championships."
Robert de Haan travels to Zandvoort third in the championship standings. The 20-year-old Dutchman will be looking to make the most of his home advantage and close the 14-point gap to the championship leader. “I can’t wait for my home race,” said the BWT Lechner Racing driver. “I always feel comfortable on this circuit, and I am aiming for the top step of the podium for sure, not least because this is set to be the final Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort for the time being.”
Alongside local favourite de Haan, teammate Marcus Amand is also among the drivers to watch in the Netherlands. The Porsche Junior, who is contesting his debut season in the international single-make series, has continued to improve from race to race. At the most recent round in Budapest, the 20-year-old secured his maiden victory and will be looking to build on that breakthrough and take a further significant step up the championship standings.
With up-and-coming talent Caleb Sumich also in the line-up and fighting for a top position in the Rookie championship, BWT Lechner Racing heads to this exciting weekend on the Dutch coast with a dynamic trio of drivers.
Double the racing also means double the chance for points in the teams’ championship. No fewer than 90 points are up for grabs across both races, more than at any other race weekend in the 2026 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup.
