Front row start for Harry King and BWT Lechner Racing at Zandvoort

For the second time after Spielberg, BWT Lechner Racing driver Harry King made it to the front row in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup: At Zandvoort, the British Porsche Carrera Cup Champion was the only one to significantly improve on his second set of tyres in a rather chaotic qualifying session and will start beside pole sitter Marvin Klein, “aiming for my first Supercup victory on Sunday and helping to secure the team championship for BWT Lechner Racing”  - which by the way would be the 12th team title for the Austrian squad in the Supercup history.

The result could have been even a better for BWT Lechner Racing: Championship leader  Dylan Pereira had actually set the fastest time on track, but received a three-place grid penalty for an incident with Simone Iaquinta, which dropped  him back from Pole Position to P4 on the grid. Nevertheless the 25-year-old from Luxembourg still starts ahead of his main title rivals Larry ten Voorde (P6) and Laurin Heinrich (P10), giving him the chance to further extend his lead before the season final in Monza.

Bastian Buus qualified in P8, “and  I was not happy that my fastest lap had been deleted due to track limits.” But the 19-year-old Dane is still looking forward to a strong race: “We have the pace and of course it would be great to win the rookie title tomorrow with a seventh rookie victory in a row.”

BWT Lechner Racing Team Principal Robert Lechner was rather happy with the outcome:  “It was a great team  performance again. We had the speed for Pole Position today, as Dylan showed and Harry confirmed with his front row grid position. Tomorrow the most important thing is to finish with all three cars – these will be very important points. Overtaking is quite tricky here and if we finish like today, it would mean already securing the team title  for BWT Lechner Racing and Bastian winning the rookie championship. That´s what the focus has to be on now!”
